We sell vouchers, and we would rather talk you out of some of them.
Giving someone sessions about their relationships, their work or their state of mind is not like giving a massage. However kindly meant, it can be received as "I think there is something wrong with you", and that is a hard thing to unwrap in front of people.
When they have already said they want to do this and the cost is what is stopping them. Then a voucher is practical help rather than a verdict, and it tends to get used.
When a couple have decided together to get help and someone else is contributing — a parent, a friend — because the money is tight.
When it is a hint. When you want them to change something and this is how you are saying it. When they have not asked.
Those vouchers do not get redeemed, and the conversation they start is not the one you wanted.
The voucher holds a value and comes off the cost of sessions. It is not tied to a format — individual or couples work is decided with them, not in advance.
Validity: at least three years from purchase, which is the legal minimum in Australia for gift cards sold since November 2019. The expiry is printed on it and no later fee is charged for using it.
Buying a voucher tells you nothing about whether it was used or what was discussed. We will not confirm attendance to the person who paid. That is not awkwardness on our part — it is the only basis on which the work is possible.
