The paradox
starts at 60
After the 60s
awaits the best and the worst of our existence. It is the happiest age – as the
surveys show – because it gives us the ability to integrate emotions and
knowledge – it is called wisdom – to enjoy the small and every day.
But only until we
fall into dependency. And then this age becomes the most miserable. Therefore,
confinement is a success story, as the gerontologist Yanguas explains, for the
elderly with health and autonomy. Science has managed to prolong our lives like
never before, but we have to organise ourselves as a society so that it is
worth living life long enough to the far end.
