A workmate swears cupping lifted their exhaustion. One story, however sincere, cannot tell you what your own experience will be.
A colleague leans over the lunch table and tells you that a few cupping sessions changed everything about their exhaustion. They clearly mean it, and their experience may have been genuinely meaningful. Yet one tale, however heartfelt, offers no forecast for another body. When several things shift at once, perhaps a new routine, a holiday, more sleep and a course of cupping, nobody can say which element made the difference. Neither does it reveal a sensible number of appointments for anyone else.
Dr Christine Shen, Acupuncturist, who offers cupping at the Freshwater clinic, hears stories like this often and listens respectfully while steering attention back to your own circumstances.
If tiredness is shaping your days, talk about when it occurs, how severe it is and what it stops you doing, both with Christine and with your usual doctor. Ongoing fatigue can have many causes, and some need investigation through blood tests or other checks. Set a realistic goal together and think about what still needs to be explored medically. Build your plan around your own body, not around replaying someone else's luck.
Select a daily hurdle, perhaps the three o'clock slump at your desk or bath time with the kids, to revisit next appointment. Note too how comfortable it felt and how the skin settled. Purple circles reveal little; whether you persist rests on that goal, how you reacted and what else is on offer.
You can be glad for a workmate and still take your own path. When you would like to talk through fatigue with someone who will encourage medical review and set honest expectations, Christine is available for a conversation in Freshwater.
